Six Practices of a Disciple

Prayer - I will talk to God daily asking Him for direction and to provide for our needs.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. — Philippians 4:6 — also: Psalm 6:9, 1 Timothy 2:8, James 5:16

Worship - I will praise and give thanks to God for all that he has done for me!
Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. — Psalm 100:2-5 — also: John 4:23-24

Reading the Bible - I will read the Bible seeking to understand God’s purposes for me and my life.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. — 1 Timothy 3:16-17 — also: Psalm 119:105, John 20:30-31

Serving - I will help others by stepping out and up to the plate to make a difference in this world and in my church.
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. — 1 Peter 4:10 — also: Matthew 20:26, Matthew 23:11, Matthew 25:40

Relationships - I will be in contact with others so that I may encourage, build up and evangelize others.
But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. — 1 Peter 3:15 — also: Mark 3:35, John 15:13-15, 1 John 3:1, 1 Peter 2:12

Giving - I will give away my life to fulfill God’s purposes including, my time, my money and my abilities.
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” — Luke 6:38 — also: Malachi 3:10, Mark 12:41-44, 1 Corinthians 16:2
